What is Premature Ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation is uncontrolled ejaculation either before or shortly after sexual penetration. It happens with minimal sexual stimulation and before the person wishes. It may result in unsatisfactory sex for both partners. This can increase the anxiety that may add to the problem. It is one of the most common forms of male sexual dysfunction. It has probably affected every man at some point in his life.
Premature ejaculation, called "premature ejaculation" and "ejaculation precox", is a disease that affects 22.7% of men worldwide between the ages of 18-70, and thus affects the same with couple.
Independently of age, it affects approximately 1 out of every 5 males worldwide. According to a comprehensive research carried out in Turkey, the rate of disease is 20%.
Premature ejaculation is one of the most commonly observed sexual dysfunctions in males under 60 years of age, and diagnosis and treatment levels among male diseases are among the lowest.
In men, the sexual response is defined as a cycle of 4 phased physical changes: desire, arousal, orgasm (emptiness) and satisfaction. Male sexual dysfunction usually occurs in one or more of the first 3 stages of the sexual response cycle.
Although the premature ejaculation is considered to be a mere psychological disorder, it is now known that the etiology of the disease depends on many factors.
Behavior therapies and drug treatments are used for its treatment. The type of treatment should be chosen according to the individual and the partner.
